Job summary

Novolex in Salisbury, NC is hiring a Forklift Driver for the Day Shift (7:00 AM–7:00 PM) with every other weekend off. Compensation is $18.13/hour based on experience, with a skill-based wage increase after 3 months.

You will operate forklift and other warehouse equipment, load/unload trucks, support WMS inventory tasks, verify counts and IDs, and maintain a clean, safe work area. Requires at least one year of forklift experience, 12-hour shifts, and active forklift certifications.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year forklift experience required or preferred.
• Experience operating sit-down forklift.
• Able to read and write in English.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklift and other warehouse equipment to move finished goods and materials.
• Load and unload trucks efficiently and safely.
• Support WMS functions related to inventory and loading (e.g., pick lists).
• Verify product counts, IDs, destinations, and carrier IDs before loading.

Job Description

Forklift Driver | Salisbury | HIRING IMMEDIATELY

Available Shifts:

• Day Shift: 7:00AM - 7:00PM rotating shift with every other weekend off

Compensation:

• $18.13/hr based on expierence
• Skill based wage increase 3 months into employment

Responsibilities:

• Operate all warehouse equipment required to transfer finished goods and other products to the appropriate areas. All warehouse equipment includes, but is not limited to, forklift, and clamp truck.
• Load and unload trucks efficiently following department standards.
• Moving and transferring materials and finished goods in a high-volume production environment.
• Support WMS functions related to inventory and load management (IE. Pick list, PGI).
• Check the accuracy of the finished product count, product ID, order destination, and carrier ID before loading any vehicle and accurately complete all required paperwork
• All transfer of products and materials must be performed with a high degree of accuracy and accountability and follow the established standard processes and procedures.
• Must adhere to all safety standards, Standard Work Instruction Sheet (SWIS), and company policies.
• Maintain work area in an organized, safe, and clean manner
• All duties are performed with a focus on safety.
• Know the locations of and how to operate emergency stop buttons and fire extinguishers.
• Complete the forklift checklist which includes daily inspection of forklifts.
• Ability to change the forklift propane tank required.
• The job responsibilities in this job description are not all-inclusive; other duties may be assigned as needed.

• Minimum of one year recent forklift experience preferred
• Minimum of one year sit-down experience required
• Must be able to work 12 hour shift
• Must obtain and maintain valid Pactiv Forklift and Safety Certifications during employment.
• Must have proven experience working in a fast paced Warehouse/Logistics environment
• Prior use of RF barcode reader and vehicle mounted (VMU) computer systems preferred
• Must be able to work in a fast paced environment
• Push-pull attachment operation a plus
• Basic knowledge of mathematics
• Ability to communicate orally and in writing (English required)
• Must be self-directed and have the ability to work with little supervision
• Will be required to be certified in Lockout/Tag Out and Forklift Operation upon assignment

Physical Requirements:

Will be exposed to hot temperatures during the summer months and cold temperatures during the winter months. There may be some exposure to dust inside the warehouse. Exposure to machine noise is possible. Ear protection is provided but not required. Ability to maintain single task focus and situational awareness. Ability to sit or stand for extended periods. Frequent: Sitting, kneeling/crawling/bending: stair climbing, carrying: 0-40 lbs. for 5-10 feet, out-reaching, standing, walking Occasional: Stoop/Squat, Ladder/Steps Climbing, Bend/Twist Repetitive Use of wrist, hands, fingers, shoulder, elbow, hip, ankles, head, neck
