Job summary

Shepherd Electric Supply is hiring for a Warehouse Associate – Pipe Yard in Maryland. You will pull pipe and conduit, verify counts, and stage orders for customers and branches. The role emphasizes safety, accuracy, and teamwork within a yard crew.

Working hours are Monday–Friday, 10:00am–7:00pm, with pay starting at $20.00 per hour depending on experience. The position requires lifting heavy material and outdoor work, with opportunities to advance through on-site training.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Prior warehouse, yard, or material handling experience preferred.
• Forklift certification (sit-down) required or ability to obtain through onsite training.
• Pipe bander experience a plus; training provided.
• Ability to perform physical requirements of the role, including lifting heavy material and working outdoors.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality are essential — overtime required when needed.
• Electrical product knowledge is a plus but not required.
• Ability to successfully complete pre-employment screening requirements.

Responsibilities

• Material Pulling & Fulfillment: Pull EMT, PVC conduit, strut, galvanized/IMC, and related material for customers and other branches; verify counts; stage orders for pickup or transfer; communicate shortages or issues.
• Loading & Unloading: Load/offload trucks safely; ensure outbound loads match orders; flag overages/shortages/damage.
• Equipment Operation: Operate sit-down forklift and pipe bander; perform pre-shift inspections; obtain certification as needed.
• Yard Organization & Maintenance: Keep yard organized and navigable; restock and reorganize locations after pulls.
• Crew & Communication: Work within a crew; communicate proactively and cover shifts during spikes.
