Job summary

Shultz Steel in South Gate, CA is seeking a Material Handler to operate a forklift and lifting devices to move materials within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will load, unload, stack, and inventory materials, ensuring safe handling and accurate records while reporting across Maintenance, Warehouse, Forge, and Quality Control teams.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, 3–6 months related experience, and a company forklift certification.

Qualifications

• 3–6 months related experience and/or training.
• Forklift certification or authorization required.

Responsibilities

• Move levers and press pedals to drive forklift and control lifting.
• Position forks under pallets and transport loads to designated areas.
• Unload and stack materials with lifting devices.
• Inventory materials and supply workers as needed.
• Weigh materials and record weights on tags or schedules.
• Verify accuracy of parts leaving facility using purchase orders.
