Job summary

Rich's, a family-owned food company, is seeking a Material Handler to ship, receive and transport packaging, ingredients and finished goods at the facility. The role requires lifting up to 50 pounds, the ability to work in a very cold environment, and a forklift certification renewed annually.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, be fluent in English, possess basic math and computer skills, and have at least one year of material handling experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must read, write and speak English.
• Must possess basic math and computer skills.
• One year or more material handling experience.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
• Be able to regularly stand, reach, bend, and move about the facility.
• Vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.
• Hearing ability to meet manufacturing facility safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Observes all safety rules and PPE usage.
• Follows GMPs and maintains an orderly, clean work area.
• Maintain forklifts by daily inspecting batteries, water levels, lights, horn, tires, mirrors, oil levels, backup alarms.
• Verify deliveries and discrepancies by inspecting materials and quantities.
• Enter delivery receipts and material handling data into the computer system.
• Organize/rotate old materials with new materials.
• Housekeeping: remove/damage control as needed; clean workspace daily.
• Assist management with inventory balances through cycle counts.
• Label open/partial ingredients and packaging.
• Check production schedules daily to stage packaging and ingredients.
• Performs all other warehouse and freezer duties.
• Must be trained and recertified annually for forklift license.
• Must be able to operate all forklift equipment.
• Must be able to work in an extremely cold environment.
