Job summary

Hayden Valley Foods is seeking a 2nd shift Forklift Operator to join its shipping team. You will load/unload, ship, and receive items, and optimize loads for efficiency while ensuring accuracy with BOLs and invoices.

The role requires standing forklift experience and the ability to operate RF scanners with safety and teamwork at the core. Starting pay is $19.50 per hour with full benefits, paid holidays, vacation and a referral bonus potential.

Qualifications

• Required: Stand‑up Forklift/ Turret Truck - Minimum of 2 years experience
• Preferred: Food Manufacturing experience
• Preferred: Warehouse Experience

Responsibilities

• Loading, unloading, shipping & receiving of various items
• Transporting materials within the facility
• Optimize loads for operational efficiency
• Inspect and ensure accuracy of product with BOL/Invoice
• Ensure loads are properly stacked and secured
• Operate pallets jacks, forklifts, or RF scanners (training provided)
• Perform daily pre‑operational forklift checks and report damages
• Prepare and submit shipping documents to Shipping & Receiving
• Accurately pick, pack, and prepare orders per standards
• Verify quantities, quality, and labeling before shipment
• Assist with receiving, stocking, and inventory control

Summary

Responsible for optimizing loads to ensure operational efficiency by safely transporting products, supplies & commodities within the warehouse facility & truck/trailers.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift or move objects up to 50 pounds.

Candidate Qualifications

• Preferred: Food Manufacturing experience | Warehouse Experience

Essential Functions

  1. Loading, unloading, shipping & receiving of various items
  2. Transportation of materials to different locations within the facility
  3. Optimize loads to ensure operational efficiency
  4. Inspect & ensure accuracy of both incoming/outgoing product with BOL/Invoice
  5. Ensure loads are properly stacked & secured and adhere to company regulations.
  6. Operate warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks, forklifts, or RF scanners (training provided if needed)
  7. Conduct daily pre‑operational checks on forklifts prior to usage and report to damages and/or repair to direct supervisor
  8. Complete all paperwork and submit all shipping documents (BOL or similar invoices) to Shipping & Receiving manager
  9. Accurately pick, pack, and prepare orders according to company standards and customer requirements
  10. Verify product quantities, quality, and labeling before shipment
  11. Assist with receiving, stocking, and inventory control as needed
  12. Report discrepancies, damages, or safety hazards to supervisors promptly

Competencies

1. Certification on forklift (both turret truck & stand‑up forklift)
2. Ability to lift objects & stand for long periods of time.
3. Attention to detail. (Ability to pick, pack & load accurately & follow instructions).
4. Spatial Awareness (Excellent hand‑eye coordination and ability to work in limited space).
5. Ability to work at heights
6. Ability to work collaboratively with a team to complete job tasks.
7. Proficiency in basic math (addition, subtraction & multiplication (for record keeping).
8. Outstanding Organizational Skills.
9. (Good verbal & written) for interactions with co‑workers & drivers
10. Follow instructions & all safety guidelines

Shift Hours

• Fulltime- 40 hours a week
• 2nd Shift- 2 pm to 12 am (Monday to Thursday)
• Shift differential
