Job summary

Hayden Valley Foods in Kentucky is seeking a 2nd Shift Forklift Operator to safely move products, load and unload shipments, and ensure accurate shipping records within a busy warehouse. Experience with stand‑up forklifts or turret trucks and a commitment to safety are required.

The role includes loading, inventory checks, and collaboration with drivers and team members. The position offers full benefits, paid holidays, vacation and sick time, and a referral bonus up to $750, with opportunity

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years experience on stand-up forklift/turret truck.
• Preferred: Food manufacturing or warehouse experience.
• Must pass a criminal background check and pre-employment drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Loading, unloading, shipping & receiving of items.
• Transport materials within the facility.
• Optimize loads to ensure operational efficiency.
• Inspect and verify incoming/outgoing product with BOL/Invoice.
• Ensure loads are properly stacked and secured per regulations.
• Operate pallet jacks, forklifts, or RF scanners (training provided).
• Perform daily pre-operational checks and report damages.
• Complete shipping paperwork and submit documents to Shipping & Receiving.
• Accurately pick, pack, and prepare orders per standards.
• Verify quantities, quality, and labeling before shipment.
• Assist with receiving, stocking, and inventory control.
• Report discrepancies or safety hazards promptly.

Summary

Responsible for optimizing loads to ensure operational efficiency by safely transporting products, supplies & commodities within the warehouse facility & truck/trailers.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift or move objects up to 50 pounds.

Candidate Qualifications

Preferred: Food Manufacturing experience | Warehouse Experience

Required: Stand-up Forklift/ Turret Truck- Minimum of 2 years experience

Essential Functions

• Loading, unloading, shipping & receiving of various items
• Transportation of materials to different locations within the facility
• Optimize loads to ensure operational efficiency
• Inspect & ensure accuracy of both incoming/outgoing product with BOL/Invoice
• Ensure loads are properly stacked & secured and adhere to company regulations.
• Operate warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks, forklifts, or RF scanners (training provided if needed)
• Conduct daily pre-operational checks on forklifts prior to usage and report to damages and/or repair to direct supervisor
• Complete all paperwork and submit all shipping documents (BOL or similar invoices) to Shipping & Receiving manager
• Accurately pick, pack, and prepare orders according to company standards and customer requirements
• Verify product quantities, quality, and labeling before shipment
• Assist with receiving, stocking, and inventory control as needed
• Report discrepancies, damages, or safety hazards to supervisors promptly
• Certification on forklift (both turret truck & stand-up forklift)
• Ability to lift objects & stand for long periods of time.
• Attention to detail. (Ability to pick, pack & load accurately & follow instructions).
• Spatial Awareness (Excellent hand-eye coordination and ability to work in limited space).
• Ability to work at heights
• Ability to work collaboratively with a team to complete job tasks.
• Proficiency in basic math (addition, subtraction & multiplication (for record keeping).
• Outstanding Organizational Skills.
• (Good verbal & written) for interactions with co-workers & drivers
• Follow instructions & all safety guidelines

Shift Hours

• Fulltime- 40 hours a week
• 2nd Shift- 2 pm to 12 am (Monday to Thursday)

Compensation & Benefits Package
