Job summary

Ken's Foods in Indiana is seeking a Warehouse Fork Truck Operator to accurately pick orders using FIFO methods. You will operate a forklift in a busy production environment and verify cases against the Bill of Lading, while maintaining safety and sanitation standards.

Starting pay is $23.00 per hour with a $1.00 shift differential. This full-time role requires basic math, reading comprehension, and the ability to lift up to 50–100 pounds, with OSHA certification or forklift license preferred.

Summary

This position will accurately and efficiently pick orders while using first in first out (FIFO) methods to fulfill customer orders. All our positions start at $23.00 per hour plus a $1.00 shift differential.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Include The Following

• Follow all Safety, SQF, GMP, and housekeeping rules and regulations
• Efficiently and safely operate fork truck in a potentially hazardous environment (wet, sloped floors, heavy pedestrian traffic)
• Responsible for proper use and maintenance of the scanning system
• Verify cases picked to match Bill of Lading
• Daily safety and maintenance check of vehicle
• Communicate all issues to management for improvements
• Properly and accurately completing paperwork
• Other duties as assigned

Food Safety Responsibilities

• Ship product free of contamination
• Follow all Ken’s Foods Security and GMP policies
• Report any suspicious activities anywhere in or around the plant
• Inspect work area for any possible product contamination issues on a continuous basis
• Report any leaking or spilled product immediately
• Inspect all incoming and outgoing loads for signs of product contamination

• Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

• Optional: can drive a fork truck for retrieval of raw materials (license would be required)
