Job summary

thyssenkrupp Forged Technologies in Indiana seeks a maintenance professional to perform preventive, predictive, and corrective work on forging equipment including presses, hammers, and furnaces with PLC systems. You will diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic issues and support robotics with programming adjustments, reading schematics, and ensuring safety standards.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in maintenance of forging or heavy industrial equipment.
  • Strong PLC troubleshooting and basic programming knowledge.
  • Experience with industrial robotics systems (Fanuc, ABB, Yaskawa, etc.).
  • Solid electrical troubleshooting skills (AC/DC, controls, drives, sensors).
  • Understanding hydraulics and pneumatics.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
  • Willingness to work flexible shifts and respond to emergencies.
  • No college degree required; technical training preferred.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in forging/manufacturing/industrial maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on forging equipment such as presses, hammers, furnaces, and material handling systems.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical issues on forging machinery.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain PLC-controlled systems (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar platforms).
  • Maintain and support industrial robotics used in forging processes, including programming adjustments and fault recovery.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
  • Perform electrical troubleshooting including motors, drives, sensors, wiring, and control systems.
  • Ensure all equipment operates safely and complies with company and regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with production and engineering teams to minimize downtime and improve equipment reliability.
  • Install, modify, and upgrade equipment as needed to support production improvements.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and documentation.
