Job summary

Connect Staffing is seeking an experienced Quality Inspector for the Forge Department in Houston, TX to perform dimensional inspections of forged and machined metal components on an active manufacturing floor.

The ideal candidate will read engineering drawings, use micrometers, calipers, pi tapes, and other OD/ID tools, and document measurements while ensuring compliance with drawings and specifications. Shift is first, starts at 6:00 AM, Monday–Friday with some Saturdays as needed.

Qualifications

• Hands-on quality inspector experience in forge/machine shop environments.
• Strong knowledge of dimensional inspection and tolerances.
• Ability to read blueprints and compare measurements to drawings.
• Experience using precision measuring instruments.
• Accurate documentation and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Perform receiving, in-process, and final inspections of forged and manufactured metal components.
• Verify dimensions, tolerances, workmanship, and compliance with drawings and specs.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and inspection requirements.
• Use micrometers, calipers, pi tapes, and other OD/ID measuring instruments.
• Inspect components for defects and dimensional discrepancies; document results.
• Identify and report nonconforming material; communicate findings to production and Quality teams.
• Follow inspection procedures, safety rules, and PPE guidelines.
• Maintain inspection equipment and ensure tools are suitable for use.
