Job summary

Bharat Forge Aluminum USA, Inc. is seeking a Forge Process Technician to set up the forge press, inspect forgings visually and dimensionally, and ensure uptime and quality targets are met. You will work under the Forging Manager to minimize rework and scrap while maintaining compliance with safety procedures.

Responsibilities include following SOPs, reading blueprints, and ensuring a clean, organized work area, while training staff on procedures and safety rules.

Qualifications

• Reads and interprets forging blueprints and customer specifications.
• Pre-production approval signed off by Forge Process Technician and Quality Inspector.
• Maintains clean and safe work area.
• Trains and enforces procedures, work instructions, control plans and safety rules.

Responsibilities

• Set up forge press to produce forgings.

Description

Setup forge press to produce a variety of forgings. Visually and dimensionally inspect forgings for conformance to required customer specifications and requirements. Achieve forge uptime, quality, rework, and scrap targets that are set by the Forging Manager.

Requirements

• Receives instructions and work assignments from forge shop supervisor.
• Follows safety procedures.
• Follows work procedures and SOP’s.
• Follows work instructions.
• Follows control plans.
• Reads and interprets forging blueprints and written customer specifications.
• Pre-production approval to be signed off by Forge Process Technician and Quality Inspector.
• Ensures equipment and work areas are clean and orderly condition at all times.
• Train, insure, and enforce that workforce is following procedures, work instructions, control plans, SPC, company policies, and safety procedures.
• Review forge tools in order to direct repairs to tool shop.
• Perform minor repairs to tools.
