Job summary

Manulife in Charlotte, NC seeks a forestry investment modeling analyst to provide forward-looking performance support for asset-level wood flows, cash flows, and ROI. You will work with data from model assumptions, yield development, and sensitivity analyses as part of the Resource Planning Team.

Responsibilities include building strategic models using Remsoft Woodstock Optimization Studio, coordinating with Operations and Client Account Management, and supporting GIS tools and data for property

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Forestry or closely related field plus 1 year of GIS management experience.
• 1 year of experience with SQL Server, Python or RDBMS for data analysis of forest timber investments.
• 1 year of timberland and agricultural asset management projects evaluation including financial returns and environmental metrics.
• 1 year of GIS data management, spatial analysis, and map production using Esri products.
• 1 year of experience with silviculture and growth and yield models for North American forestry operations.
• 1 year of timber investment experience including appraisals, acquisitions and forest inventory.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for mapping and analysis for annual harvests and site preparation activities.
• Develop Comprehensive Property Management Plans for timberland properties.
• Coordinate with Operations and Global Resource Planning for assumption meetings.
• Build, run and analyze strategic models using Remsoft Woodstock Optimization Studio.
• Present model results to Operations and Client Account Management for review and approval.
• Prepare data for tactical planning and run tactical plans using Remsoft Woodstock Optimization Studio.
