Job summary

University of Wisconsin–Stevens Point seeks a Director of the Wisconsin Forestry Center and a Professor of Forestry. This 12-month, tenure-track role combines administrative leadership, grant writing, and extension programming with undergraduate teaching (up to 2 courses/year).

The WFC operates as a UW–Stevens Point and UW–Madison Extension collaboration within the College of Natural Resources. The successful candidate will lead strategic planning, manage budgets and personnel, secure extramural

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Forestry or terminal business degree with forestry applications.
• Proven ability to secure external grants and manage contracts.
• Experience leading forestry programs or outreach initiatives.
• Strong supervisory and leadership capabilities.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Experience developing and implementing strategic outreach plans.

Responsibilities

• Administration and leadership of Wisconsin Forestry Center programming and budget (60%).
• Fiscal management including budgets, reports, and grant oversight.
• Personnel management of staff and student workers.
• Facilities oversight and strategic planning for WFC facilities.
• Develop extramural funding and lead outreach/extension programming (20%).
• Teach 2 courses per year (6 credits) and mentor students (academic 20%).
