Qualifications

Must hold or be in process of licensure as registered forester or forestry technician.
Valid driver's license required.
Must take and pass a physical examination within six months of employment.
Special Natural Resources Police Officer commission may be required.

Responsibilities

Perform forest management in Morgan, Berkeley, and Jefferson Counties.
Fire prevention, preparedness, and suppression; communicate fire prevention messages to media, groups, schools, and individuals.
Recruit, train, and check equipping of forest fire wardens, patrollers, and firefighters; supervise suppression efforts.
Assist landowners by providing technical assistance and advice; prepare stewardship plans.
Check reports of insect and disease; assist other agencies as needed.
