Job summary

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Forest Technology or Bachelor's in Forestry required.
• Must have current professional forester or forestry technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining licensure.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Must pass a physical examination within six months of employment and annual follow-up.

Responsibilities

• Perform forest management in Wetzel County.
• Engage in fire prevention, preparedness, and suppression activities.
• Deliver fire-prevention messaging to media, groups, schools, and individuals.
• Recruit, train, and check equipping of forest fire wardens, patrollers, and firefighters.
• Supervise fire-suppression efforts and investigate forest fires.
