Job summary

PRT Growing Services Ltd. is seeking a Nursery Specialist to help manage the production of 20+ million containerized and 20+ million bareroot seedlings annually.

You will handle seed stratification, planting, irrigation, fertilization, and harvesting with focus on bareroot seedlings and some container seedling work. You will work with a Nursery Supervisor and report to the Nursery Manager, with seasonal shifts from field preparation and planting to growing and harvest periods.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in horticulture, agriculture, or forestry, or equivalent experience.
• Working knowledge of pine seedling nursery operations, equipment, irrigation, soil fertility, and pesticides.
• Strong team leadership and people management experience.
• Proficient in Excel, Word, and Outlook with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Customer-driven and oriented, with a strong work ethic and commitment to safety and excellence.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklift, farm tractors, seedling lifter, and various nursery equipment.
• Operate spray rigs and fertilizer injection equipment in a safe and productive manner.
• Assist with daily tasks to maintain equipment, buildings, and seedling crop development.
