Job summary

The U.S. Forest Service seeks a skilled equipment operator to maintain and operate heavy gasoline/diesel machinery on forest road and trail projects. Qualifications

• Requires ability to operate heavy gasoline or diesel powered equipment on rough terrain.
• Must have a Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
• Willing to live/work in remote locations and pass background/fingerprint checks.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment to excavate, backfill, grade, or level earth for roads, ditches, or trails.
• Transport equipment to job sites and perform routine inspections and minor repairs.
• Assist with grading and fine surfacing, adjust attachments, and maintain records of maintenance.
