Job summary

Aurora Mental Health & Recovery (AMHR) seeks a compassionate PreSentence ReEntry Coordinator to join our Jail-Based Behavioral Health Services team at Arapahoe County Jail. You will screen, plan, and support inmates with mental health and substance use needs, coordinating with jail and community providers to build recovery and reintegration plans.

The role is fully onsite with a Sunday–Wednesday schedule, 8:00 AM–6:30 PM.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field and/or CAC II.
  • Master's degree and/or CAC III or LAC preferred; license eligible at Masters level or licensed as LAC.
  • Strong interest in mental health and ability to assess crisis situations.
  • Knowledge of community resources and ability to work with diverse behavioral health presentations.
  • Effective organizational and written/verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform behavioral health and substance use screening.
  • Perform brief mental health and substance use interventions.
  • Assist inmates with transitional resources.
  • Facilitate referrals to behavioral health providers at discharge from jail.
  • Provide crisis intervention as needed.
  • Serve as liaison between jail, mental health center, and community providers.
  • Enter data into JBBS database.
  • Provide case management as needed; instruct clients in daily living skills.
  • Conduct individual and group therapy.
  • Accurately document interactions in EMR promptly.
  • Attend criminal justice, medical, and other appointments with clients as needed.
  • Coordinate care with the care team.

Job description

Aurora Mental Health & Recovery (AMHR) is seeking a compassionate and dedicated PreSentence ReEntry Coordinator to join our Jail-Based Behavioral Health Services (JBBHS) team at the Arapahoe County Jail. In this impactful role, you will work directly with individuals involved in the criminal justice system who are experiencing substance use disorders or co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders, with a special focus on high jail utilizers. You will provide outpatient therapeutic support, develop recovery and reentry plans that align with justice system requirements, and help individuals build the skills, insight, and resources needed for long-term success. As part of a collaborative, supportive, and highly communicative team, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals navigating complex challenges while contributing to improved community outcomes. This position is fully Onsite/In-person. The schedule is Sunday - Wednesday; 8:00 AM - 6:30 PMSalary for this role. The starting wage is based on experience and company equity. Paid bi-weekly.$21.46 - $32.19 per hourBilingual Language Differential Pay. Employees who successfully pass a language assessment are eligible to receive bilingual differential pay. This differential is provided as a fixed amount of $3,000 per calendar year, paid on a bi‑weekly basis across 26 pay periods, and prorated based on hire date and full‑time equivalency (FTE).
