Job summary

Missouri Department of Corrections seeks a generalist technologist for the Toxicology Laboratory. You will be trained to work across screening and confirmation, identify and match evidence to samples, and prepare them for biochemical analysis.

You will operate GC/MS/LC/MS instruments, verify calibrators and controls, reconcile results with evidence chains, and maintain equipment and inventories. A strong chemistry/biological science background is required.

Qualifications

• Four+ years of professional technical experience as a medical technologist, medical laboratory technician, or related field.
• Earned credit hours in chemistry, physical/biological science, or related field may substitute for up to four years of the required experience at 30 credit hours per year.

Responsibilities

• Identify chains of evidence and match to urine and oral swab samples; assign liquidator numbers.
• Label chains of evidence, samples and test tubes with proper IDs.
• Prepare samples for biochemical analyzers; prep urine and oral fluid samples.
• Operate biochemical analyzers, GC/MS and LC/MS equipment; verify results, calibrators and controls.
• Reconcile results with Chains of Evidence; maintain logs for inventories and reagents.
• Perform other general laboratory work as required.
