We are seeking an experienced Structural Engineer with expertise in structural damage assessment and failure analysis of commercial, residential, and industrial structures. This is a remote role based from a home office. Travel may be required, and candidates in or near Portland, OR or Seattle, WA are preferred.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Determine origin, cause, and extent of structural failures (roof damage, water intrusion, fire damage, storm damage, etc.).
• Survey losses and damage at residential and commercial buildings.
• Investigate and document damage scope from recent events.
• Assess damages due to failures, determine failure origins for insurance and litigation support.
• Analyze failure causes and document findings.
• Collaborate on detailed reports outlining causes and damages.
• Serve as an expert witness in court or depositions.
• Maintain billable hours for forensic projects.

Education and Licensing:

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an accredited university.
• Professional Engineering (PE) license, preferably multi-state or with NCEES Record.
• Experience as an expert witness is a plus.
