Seeking an experienced Structural Engineer with expertise in structural damage assessment and failure analysis of commercial, residential, and industrial structures. This is a remote role working from a home-based office. Requires working in various environments and some travel (local or regional). Prefer candidates living on Long Island, Queens, Bronx, Brooklyn, or Staten Island. Must hold a New York professional engineer license.

PRIMARY PURPOSE

To investigate failures and provide expert opinions, guidance, and leadership on complex engineering assignments, contributing to the company's profitability through engineering consulting services.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Assessing causes of structural failures such as roof damage, water intrusion, fire, storm damage, and more.
• Surveying losses at residential and commercial sites.
• Investigating damage scope caused by recent events.
• Determining failure origins for insurance and litigation purposes.
• Analyzing failure causation and documenting findings.
• Collaborating on detailed reports and serving as an expert witness if needed.
• Maintaining billable hours for projects.

Education and Licensing

• Must have a Professional Engineering (PE) license, preferably multi-state or with active NCEES Record.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Experience as an expert witness is a plus.
