Job summary

ProNet Group, Inc. is seeking a Forensic Sleuth for Buildings, a structural or civil engineer with a P.E. license. You will investigate collapses, weather-related damages, and construction defects, and prepare professional reports.

The role blends fieldwork and analysis in a hybrid office environment with on-site inspections. Requirements include a Bachelor's in Civil/Architectural Engineering and an active P.E. license (NCEES certification preferred).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Architectural Engineering (Required).
• Active P.E. license in the state of application (Required).
• Additional P.E. licenses in other states (Preferred).
• NCEES certification (Preferred).
• Curiosity, creativity, and problem-solving instincts – you’re the kind of person who wants to know what went wrong and why.
• Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
• Deep understanding of building materials, construction methods, and building codes.

Responsibilities

• Investigate and determine the root causes of moisture intrusion, roof damage, and foundation settlement.
• Conduct thorough field inspections of structures and evaluate extent of damage and structural integrity.
• Prepare professional reports and deliver findings in writing and verbally.
• Collaborate with legal teams and potentially serve as an expert witness.
