Pittsburgh Mercy in Pittsburgh is seeking a full-time behavioral health clinician to provide assessment and face-to-face individual and group psychotherapy within Community Treatment Teams. You will collaborate with psychiatrists and agency staff to deliver evidence-based services.

The role involves developing treatment plans, crisis intervention, and coordinating with parole/probation, with on-call coverage and a $200/day reimbursement. Typical schedule is day shift with potential evenings.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or bachelor’s with relevant experience in human services.
  • Clearances (Act 33/34/73) required.
  • Pre-employment drug screen and valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in Treatment Team meetings with psychiatrists and agency staff.
  • Develop treatment plans based on consumers’ stage of change.
  • Implement stage-wise interventions and exercise clinical judgment.
  • Attend court hearings and advocate for person served.
  • Coordinate with parole and probation officers.
  • Provide crisis intervention and help clients build community supports.
  • Exercise clinical judgment in initiating and following up services.
  • Understanding of psychiatric medications and related treatments.
  • Deliver medications across Allegheny County to residences.
  • Provide on-call services on a rotating basis with $200/day reimbursement.

Description

What You Will Do
  • Participate in Treatment Team meetings, including collaboration with psychiatrists and other agency staff.
  • Ability to develop treatment plans based on consumers stage of change for identified problems and needs
  • Ability to implement stage wise treatment interventions as well as exercise sound clinical judgment in routine, urgent, and emergent clinical situations
  • Attend court, local magistrate hearings and advocate for person served.
  • Coordinate with parole and probation officers.
  • Provide crisis intervention as needed and assist clients to develop natural and community-based support systems.
  • Exercise clinical judgment in initiating services and follow up as appropriate.
  • Working Knowledge and understanding of medication used in treating psychiatric disorders
  • Deliver medications throughout Allegheny County to persons served residences
  • Provide on call services on a rotating basis - $200/day reimbursement
Minimum Qualifications
  • Master’s Degree in Human Services (sociology, social work, psychology, criminal justice, gerontology, counseling, education) and 1 year of paid human services experience OR bachelor’s degree in Human Services (sociology, social work, psychology, criminal justice, gerontology, counseling, education) and 3 years of human service experience.
  • Act 33/34/73 clearances.
  • Pre-employment Drug Screen
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to drive an organization vehicle/van
Position Highlights/Benefits

WORK SCHEDULE: This is an Exempt (salary) position. Primarily Monday through Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm, with rotating evening shift (1p-9p) as part of a team on a fixed schedule. Some weekends and holidays may be required. On Call services are required and rotate as part of a team.
