Job summary

Ohio Department of Behavioral Health (DBH) offers a limited-term, two-year Post-Doctoral Psychology Assistant fellowship in our regional psychiatric hospitals. You will work with psychiatrists, social workers, and nurses to coordinate patient care, conduct forensic evaluations, and assist in treatment planning.

The role prepares for licensure and long-term psychology careers, with emphasis on complex cases and hospital initiatives to improve patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Doctoral degree in Psychology with psychology pre-doctoral internship required.
• Post-Doctoral Psychology Assistants will gain experience in forensic psychology during the term.
• Eligibility toward licensure in psychology upon completion of fellowship.

Responsibilities

• Conduct psychological evaluations (cognitive, personality, risk assessments).
• Assist in diagnosing mental health conditions and in treatment plan development.
• Provide individual and group therapy and clinical interventions.
• Participate in court-ordered forensic assessments and supervision tasks.
