Job summary

The Washington State Department of Social and Health Services' Office of Forensic Mental Health Services seeks a psychologist to perform court-related evaluations and provide expert testimony. Qualifications

• A Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) or Doctor of Philosophy in Psychology (Ph.D.)
• Licensed or able to obtain licensure to practice psychology in Washington
• Strong clinical skills in interviewing, diagnostic clarification, and report writing
• Experience in conducting competency to stand trial evaluations
• Knowledge of psychometric testing, instruments used to assess feigning and risk
• Ability to write evidence-based, concise evaluations and provide expert testimony

Responsibilities

• Complete forensic evaluations mostly focused on competency to stand trial and related mental state at time of offense
• Work, consult, and collaborate with forensic evaluators across Washington
• Prepare for and provide expert witness testimony upon request or subpoena
• Submit forensic evaluation reports to court with analysis and psycho-legal opinions
