Job summary

SmartRecruiters, Inc. is seeking a Criminalist IA (Forensic Pathology Coordinator) in New York City to support the Office of Chief Medical Examiner.

You will work full-time under DOHMH, coordinating pathology reports and case updates with physicians and staff, while maintaining accreditation standards. The role requires a bachelor’s degree in criminalistics or closely related fields and progressive experience in criminalistics or forensic science.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in criminalistics or closely related field (criminalistics/forensic science/biology/chemistry etc).
• One year of satisfactory full-time experience in criminalistics/forensic science at Assignment Level I-B or equivalent.
• Ability to coordinate with multiple departments and communicate case updates clearly.

Responsibilities

• Prepare reports and documentation per Federal and State accreditation requirements.
• Act as liaison between the office and medical examiners for case updates and stakeholder communication.
• Coordinate intake process and monthly rotations of medical students and residents.
