Job summary

The Monroe County Medical Examiner's Office seeks an Associate Medical Examiner to conduct autopsies, perform pathological and toxicological analyses, and support investigations during emergencies.

Qualifications

• MD degree with completion of a residency in pathology and a fellowship in forensic pathology.
• Eligibility for a license to practice medicine in New York and eligibility for certification by ABP in Forensic Pathology.
• Must obtain NY medical license within six months of appointment and be board-certified or board-eligible.

Responsibilities

• Investigate deaths, perform autopsies, and conduct pathological and toxicological analyses.
• Respond to emergencies at a variety of hours and locations.
• Work under supervision of the Medical Examiner or other higher level staff; perform related duties.
