Job summary

Foundation Health Partners is seeking a Forensic Nurse Examiner within the Fairbanks Memorial Hospital Emergency Services Department. Responsibilities include medical-forensic assessments, patient care, and documentation of injuries and evidence collection.

The role requires Alaska RN license and BLS; SANE-A/P certification is preferred or obtainable. Incentives and relocation support are offered; training for the right candidate is available, with eligible experienced staff and annual incentive

Qualifications

• Must hold Alaska RN license; BLS certification required.
• Experience in forensic nursing or ability to obtain SANE-A/P within hiring timeframe.
• Ability to perform independent work and make high-judgment, evidence-based decisions.
• Must communicate respectfully with patients, families, law enforcement, advocates, and physicians.

Responsibilities

• Perform medical-forensic assessments and examinations.
• Document injury descriptions and evidence collection.
• Develop discharge plans and referrals for patients.
• Communicate with law enforcement and advocacy agencies as appropriate.
• Provide expert testimony in court when subpoenaed.
• Participate in ongoing education and quality improvement.
