Job summary

The Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences seeks a board-certified forensic neuropathologist to lead medicolegal brain and nervous system investigations. You will perform gross and microscopic neuropathology, review records, and prepare comprehensive reports in support of autopsy findings.

The role includes providing expert testimony, mentoring fellows and residents, and participating in quality assurance activities in a busy pathology environment.

Qualifications

• Board-certified in pathology with focus on forensic neuropathology.
• Minimum two years’ forensic neuropathology experience.
• Texas medical licensure required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct neuropathology components of medicolegal death investigations, including gross and microscopic analysis and report preparation.
• Provide gross and microscopic neuropathology consultations during autopsies and related cases.
• Offer expert testimony in criminal and civil court proceedings.
• Participate in quality assurance and case-review conferences.
• Engage in teaching fellows, residents, and medical students with direct supervision and lectures.
