Job summary

The State of Missouri seeks motivated Support Care Assistants for its Southeast Missouri Mental Health Center in Farmington, MO. The role involves direct care for forensic clients in a secure setting, aiding with daily living activities and monitoring physical and emotional status.

Applicants should be compassionate and able to work in a trauma-informed, recover-oriented environment. A shift differential applies for 2nd and 3rd shifts, with base pay for standard hours at $17.20 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care, treatment, and security for forensic psychiatric and/or sex offender clients in a secure setting.
• Assist with activities of daily living: feeding, bathing, bed making, shaving, dressing, and related tasks.
• Check vital signs, height, and weight as assigned.
• Collect and maintain records of fluid intake and output.
• Report on the condition of clients and changes in physical, behavioral, or emotional status.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and therapeutic environment for client care and treatment activities.
• Attend scheduled shifts and work overtime as needed to ensure adequate staffing.
• May perform internal environment of care checks or some security-related functions.
• Heavy lifting and long periods of standing are required.
