Job summary

The State of Missouri, Department of Mental Health at Southeast Missouri Mental Health Center is seeking Registered Nurses to join our forensic nursing teams. These RN positions involve working with forensic clients in a secure setting, with trauma-informed, recovery-oriented care and opportunities for continuing education.

Qualifications

• Current MO RN license.
• Possession of a current license to practice as RN in MO or MO Nurse License Compact.
• Lack of post-secondary education will not be used as the sole basis denying consideration to any applicant.

Responsibilities

• Assess, observe, evaluate, and record patient’s mental and physical condition and provide information to treatment staff to inform decisions.
• Develop and maintain nursing treatment plan, progress notes, flow sheets, and other required documentation.
• Interact with patients as part of the treatment plan, including social, recreational, and treatment activities to provide continuing treatment and rehabilitation.
• Demonstrate intermittent physical activity including walking, standing, sitting, and lifting as needed.
• Make quick decisions and respond promptly and appropriately.
• Demonstrate good manual dexterity.
• Transcribe medical orders and administer medications and treatments per physician orders.
• Assign, supervise, train, and evaluate work of ward staff.
• Attend work according to facility policies.
