Job summary

State of Minnesota’s Direct Care and Treatment unit in St. Peter is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse for night shift.

The LPN will perform entry-level nursing duties under the charge nurse, including medication administration and care planning within a forensic, mental health setting. Minimum requirements include graduation from an approved school of nursing and MN LPN licensure; NCLEX-LPN eligibility encouraged for soon-to-be graduates.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an approved school of nursing.
• Current licensure in Minnesota as a Practical Nurse.
• Future Practical Nurses within six months of graduating and NCLEX-LPN eligibility encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Administering medications, treatments, and other therapies following the practitioner’s orders and treatment plan for the client.
• Assisting the client with Activities of Daily Living and independence.
• Completing assigned unit tasks and documenting interactions with clients.
• Monitoring, reporting and documenting client health status and responses to interventions.
• Assisting the RN in planning and implementing the nursing plan of care and multi-disciplinary plans.
• Responding promptly to emergencies to maintain a safe environment.
