Job summary

The City of San Diego is seeking a Latent Print Examiner Aide to perform routine latent print analysis in the crime laboratory, process evidence, and maintain records of examinations. You will search latent print evidence through ALPS and support administrative duties for the Latent Print unit.

Applicants must meet one of the education options (80 hours formalized training, an associate degree or higher, or a Forensic Technology certificate), have 100 hours of relevant experience, be 18+, and be

Qualifications

• AGE: 18 years or older; 17 for high school graduates or GED equivalency.
• CITIZENSHIP: US citizen or eligible to work in the United States.
• EDUCATION: one of three options listed above.
• EXPERIENCE: 100 hours in latent print processing, ten-print examinations, or latent print examinations.
• NOTE: Bachelor's in forensic/physical science may substitute for hours.
• Volunteer/intern experience in law enforcement or crime lab is qualifying.
