Job summary

Oregon Health Authority is seeking a Director of Forensic Evaluation Service (Supervising Physician) in Salem. The role oversees clinical supervision and administrative management of the Forensic Evaluation Service staff, including psychiatrists and psychologists, while ensuring high-quality evaluations and regulatory compliance.

The position demands board-certified (or eligible) general psychiatry, potential forensic psychiatry certification, and leadership experience supervising clinical teams

Qualifications

• Minimum requirement: Board certification in general psychiatry and board eligibility or board certification in forensic psychiatry.
• Physician license issued by the Oregon Board of Medical Examiners at appointment and maintained throughout employment.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience managing clinical and administrative staff.

Responsibilities

• Lead, support, and coordinate the Forensic Evaluation Service (FES) activities.
• Provide clinical supervision and administrative management of FES staff.
• Ensure compliance with federal/state laws, CMS/Joint Commission standards, and OSH policies.
• Oversee quality of forensic evaluations and complex assessments.
