Job summary

SNA International seeks a bright, collaborative Forensic DNA Technician in the Quality Control Section to support AFDIL. The DNA Technician assists in program maintenance and development under the Validation & Quality Control Manager, performing DNA typing casework and supporting the DNA Registry.

The role includes preparing reagents, maintaining documentation and chain of custody, handling LISA and AFMETS data entry, and participating in audits and education initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Forensic Science, Biology, or Chemistry is desired.
• Ability to complete NAC-I background check.
• Ability to work independently on multiple tasks with minimal supervision.
• Knowledge of forensic DNA analytical methods, nucDNA and mtDNA.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the expansion of the AFDIL technical program and set up laboratory instruments and equipment.
• Perform laboratory processing using the most current validated procedures on tissue and fluids.
• Maintain accurate chain of custody and data entry in LISA and AFMETS; prepare reports and correspondence.
• Assist in internal and external audit preparation and participation.
• Self-direct workflow to complete duties weekly.
