Job summary

SNA International seeks a bright, collaborative Forensic Scientist 2 – Forensic Quality Assurance Consultant to join our team in a hybrid role based out of Dover, DE. The role supports the Management System under the Quality Manager, auditing, SOP review, and training activities while possibly testifying as needed.

The candidate may perform casework support and assist with database management, QA data analysis, and educational outreach as part of the DoD DNA Operations initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 9 related course hours in biology/chemistry areas.
• FBI QAS Auditor certification and ANAB auditor training.
• Knowledge of DoD DNA Operations and military services.
• Knowledge of forensic tissue typing methods (nucDNA/mtDNA).
• Willingness to stay current on forensic science issues.
• Ability to use analytical instruments.
• Interpretation of complex data and preparation of presentations.
• Willingness to complete NAC-I background check.

Responsibilities

• Lead internal audits of the laboratory against accreditation standards.
• Subject matter expert for Quality Manual and accreditation.
• Organize annual SOP reviews and maintain archives.
• Assist in writing and editing laboratory documents for accreditation.
• External audits of other laboratories as a volunteer representative.
• Participate in Management System meetings and present findings.
• Analyze QA data and present quarterly to management.
• Liaise for Management Section records maintenance.
• Support educational activities remotely.
• Lead or assist with special projects.
