Job summary

The Washington State Department of Social and Health Services seeks a Forensic Psychiatric Discharge Social Worker (PSW3) to join the Gage Center team at Western State Hospital. You will help bridge hospital and community through discharge planning, promoting wellness and recovery as part of a multidisciplinary team.

The role involves admissions, assessments, and discharge processes, testimony at hearings, referrals, and support for privileges and community transition, with on-site work three

Qualifications

• Master's degree from approved school of social work and two years of experience in counseling people who experience behavioral health issues.
• Ability to obtain registration as an Agency Affiliated Counselor.
• An independent clinical social work license is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Delivers daily or weekly 1:1 therapeutic engagement.
• Works collaboratively with their inter-disciplinary/multi-disciplinary team.
• Testifies at court hearings/reviews and/or trials.
• Provides day to day Social Worker coverage for treatment team.
• Assists in proper referrals for assistance and advocacy.
• Presents patients for increased/reduced privileges, conditional release/revocation, and or community transition to the Risk Review Board.
• Assist with special data and reporting needs.
• May have a combination of both inpatients and outpatients.
