Job summary

Richland County Government's RCSD Forensic Sciences Laboratory seeks a professional to conduct physical, microscopic, chemical, and instrumental analyses of evidence. With limited supervision, you'll prepare written reports and provide expert testimony in federal, state and local courts, and assist at crime scenes.

This role includes training others and performing related law enforcement work to enforce laws and county ordinances.

Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. Citizen.

Responsibilities

• Conduct physical, microscopic, chemical, and instrumental analyses of evidence suspected to contain controlled substances.
• Provide written reports based on the analyst’s interpretation of results.
• Provide expert testimony in federal, state and local courts; provide support at crime scenes.
• Provide training to appropriate individuals or groups as requested.
• Perform general police duties to enforce state and local laws and county ordinances.
• Assist with other criminal evidence analysis and law enforcement work.
