Richland County Government's RCSD Forensic Sciences Laboratory seeks a professional to conduct physical, microscopic, chemical, and instrumental analyses of evidence. With limited supervision, you'll prepare written reports and provide expert testimony in federal, state and local courts, and assist at crime scenes.
This role includes training others and performing related law enforcement work to enforce laws and county ordinances.

With limited supervision, conducts physical, microscopic, chemical, and instrumental analyses of evidence suspected to contain controlled substances.
Provides written reports based on the analyst’s interpretation of results.
Provides expert testimony in federal, state and local courts; provides support at crime scenes.
Provides training to appropriate individuals or groups as requested.
The purpose of this class is to perform general police duties to ensure the strict enforcement of state and local laws and County ordinances relating to public safety and welfare, and to perform related law enforcement work as required.
This class is responsible for professional and technical work in the analysis of evidence submitted to the Richland County Sheriff’s Department (RCSD) Forensic Sciences Laboratory in criminal cases; to assist with other criminal evidence analysis and law enforcement work, and to perform related work as required.
Compensation Range: $59,532.64 - $95,171.86
