Mercor is assembling a panel of chemistry and chemical safety experts to red-team frontier AI models. The role involves writing prompts, evaluating model responses, and composing a reference answer with technical reasoning.

You will operate in a high-scrutiny, writing-intensive environment with clear rationales for every judgment. Experience in substance and precursor identification, forensic context, and expert-witness writing is highly valued.

Qualifications

• Has done casework identifying substances and precursors, and defending conclusions in a report or on the stand.
• Able to distinguish routine professional questions from fishing attempts using the same precursor knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Write challenging single-turn prompts in three levels: benign, dual-use, and adversarial.
• Evaluate model responses against a policy standard and judge correctness.
• Write the reference answer with technical reasoning.
