Job summary

Eastern State Hospital (ESH) seeks motivated Nurse Assistants to work as Forensic Care Associates, under R.N. supervision, to learn behavioral health treatment areas and support patients awaiting competency restoration.

On-site work at this location offers a 5% premium pay for 3+ days on-site, with a $2.50/hour shift differential for Evening/Night shifts. Opportunities include FT, PT, and On-Call; some roles require 2+ years in behavioral health and valid WA NAR/NAC/CNA or MA credentials.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Two years of behavioral health experience.
• Current WA Nursing Assistant Registration (NAR) or Nursing Assistant Certification (NAC/CNA) or Medical Assistant (MA).
• Current Food Handler's permit and CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Help create a supportive environment by guiding people to improve their behavior.
• Engage with and provide for patient safety and comfort through health guidance and daily care.
• Maintain a pleasant, well-stocked ward environment.
• Assist nurses with food, medications, activities, and treatments prescribed by a physician.
• Promote safe environments for employees and patients; observe patients for unusual behavior.
• Maintain security in housing and treatment areas and inspect living areas for order.
• Assist with documentation of vitals and observations on patient charts.
• Escort patients to appointments or outside trips.
