Job summary

The Lake-Geauga Recovery Centers seeks a Forensic Assessment Specialist to conduct biopsychosocial evaluations for individuals referred by the Lake County Common Pleas Courts prior to sentencing. This role emphasizes collaboration with court personnel to identify needs and recommend levels of care, with referrals to treatment providers and thorough documentation.

Candidates must hold a LPCC or LISW license, have at least 3 years in behavioral health, and be willing to work evenings or weekends

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in human services required; a Master's preferred.
• Licensure as LPCC or LISW required.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in behavioral health, including assessment and referral processes.
• Experience with the criminal justice system or forensic settings preferred.
• Strong understanding of mental illness and substance use disorders.
• Proficient with relevant software and systems.

Responsibilities

• Performs biopsychosocial assessments for individuals referred by the Lake County Common Pleas Courts prior to sentencing, using ASAM multidimensional assessment.
• Collaborates with court personnel, probation officers, and other stakeholders to provide mental health and substance use assessments.
• Assesses strengths and needs, recommending levels of care per ASAM protocols.
• Facilitates intake, referral, assessment, and admission processes to Lake County treatment providers.
• Provides consultation to courts on assessments and recommendations.
• Completes client charting and documentation adhering to policies.
