Job summary

The New York City Department of Investigation (DOI) seeks a Forensic Accounting or Finance College Aide to support Squad 10’s audit team. You will assist with misappropriation investigations, review financial records, and help prepare reports for witness interviews and enforcement actions.

Preferred candidates are enrolled in Accounting/Finance programs, with strong analytical and communication skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Coursework or experience in auditing, accounting, or finance.

Responsibilities

• analyze financial records including bank and credit card accounts, vendor payments, payroll
• trace hidden assets, laundered money, and stolen funds
• identify additional accounts for investigators to subpoena
• prepare written summaries of findings for use by investigators in interviews and presentation of evidence to law enforcement partners
