Responsibilities

• Lead paving crews and oversee asphalt paving operations on public and private work.
• Dispatch crews and communicate with the plant for mix orders and cut offs.
• Complete daily paperwork including crew time sheets and site evaluation sheets.
• Communicate with state and local agencies, inspectors, contractors, and management.
• Promote and participate in the Company Safety Program.
• Work a flexible schedule including daytime and occasional night work and travel as needed.

• Lead paving crews and oversee asphalt paving operations on both public and private work
• Dispatch crews
• Communicate mix orders and cut offs with the plant
• Complete paperwork including daily crew time sheets, daily site evaluation sheets, weekly toolbox safety meeting sheets, etc.
• Communicate with state and local agencies; inspectors; contractors; subcontractors; company management, and employees
• Participate and promote the Company Safety Program
• Work a flexible schedule that includes daytime and occasional night work, along with occasional travel
• Are a problem solver
• Have thorough knowledge of asphalt paving operations
• Are passionate about quality work
• Are able to run screed
• Understand how to achieve compaction in varying conditions
• Are a team player with strong leadership skills
• Can communicate effectively, both verbally and written
• Can complete projects in a timely and accurate manner
• Can work well under pressure
• Are willing and able to work varying and extended hours
• Are a member of the Operating Engineers Local 701 or are willing to join

Requirements

We prefer 5 years of experience in asphalt paving and value community leadership and involvement. You must pass a pre-employment drug screen and driving record review.
