City of Chicago Foreman of Electrical Mechanics is responsible for supervising journey-level electrical mechanics across municipal facilities, airports, water plants, and substations. You will study blueprints, plan work, estimate labor/materials, and coordinate resources to ensure timely, compliant installations and repairs.

This position is open to the general public and to all current city employees covered under the terms of the City's collective bargaining agreement with the INTERNATIONAL BROTHERHOOD OF ELECTRICAL WORKERS, LOCAL 134 (BU #32).
Under general supervision, supervises journey-level electrical mechanics engaged in the installation, repair, and maintenance of electrical wiring systems and equipment found in municipal buildings, airports, water purification plants, and substations, and performs related duties as required.
NOTE: The list of essential duties is not intended to be inclusive; there may be other duties that are essential to particular positions within the class.
Location: Radio Shop 1411 W Madison St (Field Crew / Field Oversight)
Hours: Monday through Friday 6:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. (May vary depending on business need)
Days Off: Saturday and Sunday
Rate of Pay: $69.47/hr.
Successful completion of a US Department of Labor registered Electrical Mechanic apprenticeship training program and journeyman status, PLUS two (2) years of journey-level electrical mechanic work experience;
