Position Summary

The Mechanical Foreman is responsible for managing a specific section of job site operations on the projects assigned to achieve timely and profitable completion. The Mechanical Foreman directly supervises the field labor force, including laborers and craft workers. This position must demonstrate strong leadership, organizational and time management skills, as well as have strong communication and customer service skills.

Essential Functions

  • Day-to-day onsite supervision of labor force, subcontractors and other construction related personnel
  • Confront difficult situations and manage to a successful conclusion, while also maintaining appropriate documentation as needed
  • Assist with providing technical assistance (interpretation of drawings, recommendation of construction methods and equipment, etc.) as required, including mechanical, plumbing and welding
  • Inspection of Contractor or Subcontract operations to ensure compliance with contract
  • Maintain good relationships with internal and external customers, including representatives of customers
  • Manage a look ahead no less than two weeks to proactively identify issues that could lead to problems and facilitate solutions
  • Create and maintain a culture that values respect, safety, health and cleanliness
  • Communicate and enforce Safety Processes/Policies
  • Demonstrate commitment to an Injury-Free Environment through own actions and mentoring others
  • Distribute work to tradesmen and ensure all activities take place on or ahead of schedule
  • Maintain daily paperwork such as timecards, field reports, schedule updates and email correspondence
  • Provide training and education to support field employees

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Proficiency with Project Estimating Software preferred
