Job summary

Freedom Industries, Inc. is seeking an experienced Mechanical/Plumbing Superintendent to lead field installations on construction projects.

This role ensures all mechanical and plumbing work follows engineering standards, codes, and project schedules, coordinating with project management and clients for smooth execution. The ideal candidate has extensive construction experience with mechanical and plumbing systems, strong leadership, and the ability to manage multiple trades.

Qualifications

  • Extensive experience with mechanical and plumbing systems in a construction environment.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of building codes and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Review and interpret mechanical and plumbing drawings and specifications to ensure correct implementation.
  • Develop and implement strategies for sequencing mechanical and plumbing work.
  • Conduct site inspections to ensure safety standards and project specifications.
  • Prepare and submit regular progress reports on mechanical and plumbing work.
  • Ensure quality control of all mechanical and plumbing installations.
  • Oversee and manage subcontractors and ensure adherence to project guidelines.
  • Assist in procurement of materials and mechanical/plumbing equipment.
  • Participate in project meetings and coordinate with other construction disciplines.
  • Handle additional duties assigned by the Project Manager.
  • May work inside or outside in varied conditions.

Position Summary

The Mechanical / Plumbing Superintendent is crucial for overseeing all mechanical and plumbing installations on construction projects. This position is responsible for ensuring that all installations are executed according to engineering standards, relevant codes, project specifications and planning schedules. The Mechanical / Plumbing Superintendent manages field operations, coordinates with the project management team, and liaises with clients and contractors to facilitate efficient project execution. Reporting directly to the General Superintendent, this role collaborates closely with other superintendents and the Project Management team.

Skills and Abilities
  • Extensive experience with mechanical and plumbing systems in a construction environment required
  • Comprehensive knowledge of relevant building codes and regulations
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage teams and coordinate effectively with multiple trades
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Experience/Education/Other
  • High School Education
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience
  • Knowledge with Microsoft Office and Primavera P6 preferred

  • Repetitive movement, including but not limited to, squatting, standing, bending, walking, climbing, etc.
  • Must be able to walk on both level and unlevel surfaces, and use hands to feel/operate tools, objects, controls, etc.
  • May be exposed to fumes, flashing light, sparks, flames
  • Must be able to operate company vehicles (clean driving record)
