Job summary

Frontline Source Group seeks a Foreman for Fuel Construction in New Mexico to coordinate field operations across multiple sites. The role requires supervising crews, ensuring safety, and delivering complete fuel system installations, including underground tanks and Verifone equipment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Active underground storage tank installer license in NM/TX/OK/AZ required; NM license strongly preferred.
  • Experience with fuel installations including tanks, dispensers, Verifone equipment, and programming.
  • OSHA 30 Hour training preferred.
  • Strong leadership and communication abilities.
  • Ability to travel extensively and work outdoors in varying conditions.

Job description

Foreman, Fuel Construction

Our client is seeking a Foreman within Fuel Construction who may reside anywhere in New Mexico. This is a direct hire opportunity requiring extensive travel throughout the company’s geographic territory.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate daily work assignments according to project priorities, construction plans, and deadlines.
  • Lead and provide immediate field supervision to construction crew members and contractors.
  • Delegate individual responsibilities and project assignments across the crew.
  • Manage a crew typically consisting of three laborers and one equipment operator.
  • Complete full fuel system installations, including underground storage tanks, fuel piping, dispensers, Verifone equipment, and equipment programming.
  • Oversee the safe excavation, preparation, grading, installation, and completion of underground fuel tank sites.
  • Operate excavators, loaders, skid steers, and other heavy construction equipment as needed.
  • Perform highly precise excavation work required for underground storage tank installations.
  • Assist crew members with heavy manual labor and other field responsibilities when necessary.
  • Monitor project quality, regulatory compliance, safety, and construction progress.
  • Communicate project status, challenges, staffing needs, and completion timelines to the Director of Fuel Construction.
  • Train, coach, and develop laborers and equipment operators seeking advancement within the fuel construction department.
  • Provide hands‑on instruction to employees who need assistance completing work safely and correctly.
  • Resolve crew conflicts, performance concerns, and miscommunications quickly and professionally.
  • Maintain a productive worksite and ensure crew members remain engaged throughout the workday.
  • Facilitate or support required safety and equipment training.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, expense reports, and project‑related records.
  • Travel to project sites throughout Texas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Arizona, and other areas within the company’s operating territory.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Five or more years of construction or related field experience.
  • Active underground storage tank installer license in New Mexico, Texas, Oklahoma, or Arizona required; New Mexico license strongly preferred.
  • Experience completing full fuel installations, including underground fuel tanks, dispensers, Verifone equipment, and equipment programming.
  • Experience leading construction crews, assigning work, and managing field performance.
  • Strong understanding of construction management practices.
  • Excavator, loader, and skid steer experience; advanced excavator operating ability strongly preferred, including precise excavation work.
  • Long arm excavator experience preferred.
  • OSHA 30 Hour Occupational Safety and Health training preferred.
  • Confined space, excavation safety, and personal fall protection training preferred.
  • Strong leadership, conflict resolution, communication, and team building abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively with field employees, contractors, and company leadership.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to perform heavy physical labor and strenuous tasks.
  • Strong critical thinking, organization, deadline management, and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record.
  • Willingness to travel extensively.
Travel Expectations

This position requires extensive travel and is best suited for someone already accustomed to project-based field construction. Employees generally travel to the project site early Monday morning and typically work Monday through Friday, returning home Friday when project location and scheduling allow. Projects may require employees to remain near the worksite for two to three weeks. Weekend work may occasionally be required. Employees may remain in a hotel over the weekend when the project is too far from home for reasonable weekend travel. Flexibility regarding project schedules, work locations, and extended stays is required. The role requires up to 100 percent travel throughout the company’s geographic area.
