The Role
We are looking for highly motivated, self‑starters who can work independently as well as in a fast‑paced team environment. The Petroleum Construction Foreman will be tasked to lead, manage, and coordinate the construction and installation of petroleum equipment.
Essential Job Functions
- Coordinate job duties and delegate tasks to construction workers and sub‑contractors as the crew leader while managing and working on the job.
- Installation of specialty fiberglass or flexible piping systems.
- Installation of fueling dispensers and systems.
- Installation of new sub‑base aggregate, compaction with vibratory equipment, forming and pouring concrete pads, islands, piers, and other structures.
- Demo and removal of concrete / asphalt.
- Monitor and maintain schedules for workers and sub‑contractors; make sure the best skills are applied by each worker and ensure installation requirements are followed accurately and efficiently.
- Ensure safe work practices are always followed and maintain safe housekeeping practices.
- Brief crew members on daily tasks and direct workers on assigned tasks.
- Track rental equipment, material needs and use, monitor labor and sub‑contractors.
- Verify accuracy and compliance of tasks in progress to comply with codes, project specifications and manufacturer requirements.
- Document daily activities, material/parts used, testing, inspections, and visitors.
- Create and maintain positive working relationships with crew members, vendors, suppliers, and sub‑contractors to maintain a timely flow of supplies, materials, and sub‑contractor work.
- Work with concrete, framing, pouring, mixing, and finishing.
- Operate heavy equipment to excavate ditches, tank holes and install equipment.
- Travel to job sites (may require overnight travel).
- Read and interpret blueprints to determine grades, elevations, and overall system design and specifications.
Requirements
- Minimum five years’ experience with petroleum construction.
- Field construction experience running a crew and working with sub‑contractors.
- Equipment operation experience with skid‑steer loaders, excavators, and backhoes.
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
- Requires state‑specific AST/UST DEP certifications.
- Strong communication skills.
- Overtime possible; occasional out‑of‑town jobs.
- Must successfully complete pre‑employment testing, including skills testing, background checks, and drug testing.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
- Must be able to pass a DOT physical.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Ability to work outside during all types of weather.
Schedule
7 AM to 5 PM Monday through Friday.
Overtime possible.
Occasional overnight stays Monday – Friday.
