Job summary

Professional Teleconcepts, LLC is seeking an experienced Foreman to lead on-site crews in hyperscaler data center cable deployments. You will supervise installation, ensure safety, manage schedules, and coordinate with the client and vendors to deliver projects on time and to spec.

The role requires strong leadership, extensive fiber/copper cabling experience, and the ability to work across shifts in a dynamic data center environment. Travel to sites is expected as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or relevant work experience.
• DOT physical exam and medical card required.
• US work authorization.
• 4+ years fiber splicing and cable placement experience.

Responsibilities

At Professional Teleconcepts, LLC (IL), we are seeking a highly capable Foreman to lead high-visibility, large-scale infrastructure projects within mission-critical hyperscaler data center environments. This role focuses on overseeing the deployment, pulling, and dressing of structured cabling—including high-capacity fiber trunks, copper plenum, and outside plant (OSP) cables—across active industrial construction sites.

Summary / Objective

The Foreman will organize, manage, and plan the daily on-site activities for cable placement crews from inception to closeout. You will directly manage and provide the operational oversight required to successfully service the hyperscaler client. You will use discretion and independent judgment to develop guidelines, monitor compliance, enforce strict data center protocols, and ensure the project is delivered on time, to specifications, and within budget.

What you’ll do

Essential Functions

Site Leadership: Lead an on-site technical team of cable placement technicians to complete the assigned deployment projects on time, to specifications, and with accuracy and efficiency.

Installation Oversight: Oversee the pulling, routing, and dressing of diverse structured cabling systems (e.g., fiber optic trunks, networking copper, and OSP cable) through complex pathways, including elevated overhead trays and underground conduits.

Quality Control & Fiber Handling: Enforce strict industry standards for fiber and cable handling, ensuring crews maintain proper bend radii, monitor pull tensions, manage slack correctly, and exclusively use approved fastening methods like hook-and-loop.

Risk Management & Safety: Conduct risk assessments, report identified risks to management, and provide recommendations for mitigation, particularly regarding site-specific safety hazards and active construction site regulations. Guarantee all crew members are properly certified and safely operating scissor and boom lifts for elevated pathway work.

Client & Vendor Liaison: Act as the primary on-site liaison between our company, the hyperscaler client, facility representatives, other trades, and equipment vendors. Address questions, concerns, and complaints throughout the project lifecycle.

Scheduling & Administration: Utilize project management software to build daily progress reports and manage crew schedules to align with the Baseline Project Schedule. Adapt workforce planning to support diverse schedules, including dedicated day and night shifts.

Cross-functional Interface: Interface with all levels of management in operations, engineering, installation, and procurement services to implement needed areas of change and operational improvements.

Pay range is $45-$50/hour based on experience

What you’ll need

• To be 18 years of age or older
• Authorization to work in the United States for this company
• High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or relevant work experience
• Valid State driver's license (cannot be Provisional), including an acceptable driving record
• Must be able to pass a DOT physical exam, resulting in a valid medical card
• At least 4 years of experience splicing, placing, and testing fiber strands

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Communication & Interpersonal: Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, and customer service skills.

Management: Excellent organizational and time management skills with a proven ability to prioritize, delegate, and meet strict regulatory deadlines. Strong supervisory and leadership skills.

Analytical: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to resolve and minimize recurring field problems, particularly those related to congested pathways or complex cable pulls.

Technical: Broad knowledge of structured cabling practices, standard pathway routing tools (e.g., fish tape, glow rods), and heavy machinery operation (boom/scissor lifts).

Industry Knowledge: Thorough understanding of (or the ability to quickly learn about) active industrial construction sites, hyperscaler environments, and safety protocols for elevated and high-tension cable deployment.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

Hours: Must be able to work a minimum of 50 hours per week, including day or night shifts, and weekends as required by project demands or maintenance windows.

Travel & Site Conditions: Includes a remote office environment, but also requires travel with potential overnight stays. Must be able to work in active data center environments, adhering to strict security, PPE, and noise safety requirements.

Physicality: Ability to sit and/or stand for long periods of time, and the physical dexterity to navigate around active construction zones, overhead conveyances, and elevated platforms.
