Job summary

The Kearney Companies, a Site & Utilities Contractor in Riverview, FL, seeks an Asphalt Foreman to lead paving crews in the Brandon/Riverview area. You will plan, supervise, and execute asphalt paving and roadwork while maintaining safety and quality on site.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in asphalt paving with supervisory experience, strong leadership, and the ability to interpret project plans. A valid driver’s license and clean record are required; OSHA training is supported by the company.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years in asphalt paving with at least 2 years supervising crews.
• Knowledge of asphalt paving techniques, materials, and equipment.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to read and interpret project plans and specifications.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Oversee asphalt crew, including training and supervision of crew members.
• Operate and run all crew equipment, including the paver.
• Review, monitor, and maintain crew productivity, equipment, and materials to meet deadlines.
• Pre-plan work for crew and provide training opportunities.
• Enforce safety policies on all aspects of work.
• Supervise, inspect documents, and maintain awareness of equipment used on site.
• Train crew on equipment and ensure safe operation on site.
• Oversee safety procedures, quality of workmanship, production, and scheduling.
• Complete daily hazard analysis forms.
• Participate in problem solving to prevent delays.
• Maintain daily timesheets of time and equipment for crew.
• Lead toolbox talks and safety meetings; post-incident training.
• Attend OSHA/safety training as required.
• Communicate with Superintendent, Project Managers, other Foremen, and crew members.
• Report hazards and address them with crew members.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Superintendent/PM.

Our projects include site development, underground utilities, roadway construction, and public infrastructure work throughout the Tampa Bay area. Due to continued growth, we are seeking an Asphalt Foreman to support our team in the Brandon/Riverview area.The Asphalt Foreman will be responsible for ensuring efficient and effective operation of the asphalt crews, while ensuring safety quality and timely completion of all asphalt paving projects. This position will be responsible for the field planning and production of paving and roadwork in civil construction as directed by the Superintendent.## Requirements* Oversee and manage the asphalt crew, including task training, and supervision of crew members* The ability to perform all crew member duties and run all crew related equipment, including the paver, is of high importance.* Review, monitor, and maintain crew productivity, equipment, and materials to ensure deadlines are met.* Maintain company assigned vehicles and equipment according to company and safety standards.* Pre-plan work for crew and provide training opportunities.* Enforce quality control and safety policies on all aspects of work.* Supervise, inspect documents, and maintain awareness of equipment used on site.* Train crew on equipment used onsite and ensure equipment is being operated and shut down safely and properly.* Oversee safety procedures, quality of workmanship, production, and scheduling.
